Donald A "Don" Wells' Obituary
A Memorial Service for Donald A. “Don” Wells, 61, of DeRidder, La, will be held on Friday, November 18, 2011, 2:00 PM, at Wesley United Methodist Church in DeRidder, LA. Minister officiating will be Rev. Heather Leyland. Visitation will begin at 12 noon at the church prior to the service on Friday.
Don was born on April 4, 1950, to Helena Welte Wells & Donald Richard Wells, Military Parents, in Munich, Germany. He spent his childhood between Germany & Pennsylvania. He graduated from Frankfurt American High School & earned his degree in Business from the University of Maryland. He was formerly employed with Albertsons Food & Drug for 17 years; Wal-Mart for 8 years, as the Store Director and was the Executive Director of CASA in DeRidder for 2 years. Don was a mentor to many young people, member of the DeRidder Lions Club and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He loved the DeRidder community where he was very active, he considered DeRidder his home.
Survivors are his loving wife, Mary Wood Wells of DeRidder, LA; 3 sons, Brendan Matthew Wells of Metairie, LA, Patrick Mason Wells of Natchez, MS & Casey Leim Wells of Baton Rouge, LA; 1 daughter, Jamie Leigh Newhouse Wells Dodson of Denham Springs, LA; 2 sisters, Anita Zeman of San Rafael, CA & Sonya Miller of Flowermound, TX and 3 grandchildren, Mason Alexander Wells, Cooper Alan Wells & Bijou Arabella Dodson.
