Dominique Massoni's Obituary
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Dominique Massoni, 60, of Leesville, LA on Monday, September 22, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Michael The Archangel Catholic Church in Leesville with Father Jesus M. Munoz-Lasalle officiating. Burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21st from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held on Monday, September 22nd from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Dominique the daughter of Paul and Renee’ Simas was born on January 27, 1954, in Deauville, a resort town in Normandy, France. She passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at her residence in Leesville.
Mrs. Massoni moved to the US in 1963 with her family. Her father Paul, a professional chef had a three year work contract in Lafayette. Afterward they stayed in Cajun Country. She married her husband, SFC Marion A. (Tony) Massoni in 1978. After her husband’s military career, they made Leesville their home.
She worked for DFMWR on Fort Polk as a financial management technician for twenty five years.
She enjoyed working in her yard, cutting grass, taking care of her plants and herb garden. She also enjoyed and had a passion for cooking.
She was preceded in death by her husband SFC Marion A. (Tony) Massoni USA Retired of Leesville and her parents Paul and Renee’ Simas of Breaux Bridge.
She is survived by her daughter, Sonya Massoni and her son, Adrien Massoni both of Leesville; sister, Joelle (Darrel) Doguet of Cankton; niece, Kristina Doguet and nephew, Nicholas Doguet both of Lafayette; brother-in-law, Rino Massoni; sister-in-law, Grazia Massoni and their son, Ricardo Massoni.
Pallbearers will be Adrien Massoni, Jean-Paul Hicks, Darrell Doguet, Nicholas Doguet and Bob Roberts.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Leesville for their kindness, generosity and professionalism. Heartfelt appreciation goes to Hospice of Leesville they have made our burden much lighter.
