Mrs. Dewel B. Slaydon's Obituary
Mrs. Dewel B. Slaydon, 100, departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Westwood Manor Nursing Home in DeRidder, La., surrounded by her children and Pastor. Dewel was born December 18, 1910 in Banister, La.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011, 11:00 AM at the Pentecostal Worship Center, 1771 Glendale Rd, DeRidder. Ministers will be Rev. Tommy Magee, Rev. George L. Glass, Jr. and Rev. Kevin Reeves. Burial will be at Newlin Cemetery, Singer, La. under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation will begin on Friday, January 21, 2011, 5:00PM until 9:00PM at the Pentecostal Worship Center and resume on Saturday at 9:00 AM until the service at 11:00 AM.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Faye Spurlock and husband Bob of Porter, Tx, and Linda Crain and husband James of DeRidder; two sons, Bobby Slaydon and wife Shirley of DeRidder and Webster Slaydon of Lumberton, Tx.; one sister, Audrey Spicer of DeRidder, La; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 28 great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Slaydon; son, Ray Slaydon; grandson Ricky Slaydon and two daughters-in-law, Bessie Atteberry Slaydon and Marie Martin Slaydon.
Mrs. Slaydon was a member of the Pentecostal Worship Center in DeRidder.
