Dempsey Miller Parden's Obituary
It is bitter sweet to announce Dempsey Parden came face to face with his Lord and Savior on October 17, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born on April 12, 1938, Dempsey devoted his life to Jesus Christ and his family. He worked side by side with Shelba Parden his wife of 69 years, 2 months, and 1 day to raise his 3 children in a Christ centered home.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, George William Parden; father William Parden; mother, Annie Bailey Parden; three brothers: Thomas Parden, William Parden, and Vaughn Parden; and by two sisters, Jocielyn Arendall and Leila Parden.
Dempsey is survived by his wife Shelba Parden; sister Gilly Durell, and his brother Weldon Parden and wife Carolyn; his loving children: daughter Rhonda Simon and her husband Glen Simon, daughter Karen Johnson and her husband Kirk Johnson, and son Dempsey Parden Jr. and his wife Leigh Anne Parden.
He was a proud grandfather to Jessica Jimenez, Amy Milke, Nadia Pardue, Lucas Simon, Wesley Simon, Samuel Johnson, Shaun Johnson, Nicholas Casanova, Dempsey Truett Parden, and Nathan Parden, and loving great-grandfather to 18 great-grandchildren.
Dempsey proudly served the country he loved in the United States Navy.
A funeral service will be held at Dry Creek Baptist Church on October 20, 2025 at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Louisiana Baptist Childrens Home & Family Ministries in Dempsey’s memory.
