Dempsey Haymon's Obituary
Funeral services for Dempsey J. Haymon, 75, of Hornbeck, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012, at Old Anacoco Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Chance, Bro. Alton Achord and Dr. Glenn Cooley officiating. Burial will follow in the Prewitt’s Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 8th from 5 p.m. ~ 9.00 p.m. and on Friday, November 9th, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Dempsey, the son of Floyd and Gertie Jeane Haymon was born January 18, 1937, at Fort Polk, LA. He passed away Tuesday, November 6th, in Shreveport, LA.
Dempsey was a retired principal of Hornbeck High. He was a lifetime church music director, 20 year volunteer of Louisiana Baptist Disaster Relief and a 45 year Southern Baptist Church Deacon. He was an avid outdoorsman with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and Sister Wandalene.
He is survived by his Wife, Peggy Haymon of Hornbeck, LA; Son, James & wife, Lisa Haymon of Winnfield, LA; Daughter, Karen Haymon of Alexandria, LA; brothers, Delmon Haymon of Anacoco, LA and Dorman Haymon of Lafayette, LA and two grandchildren, Tyler and Matthew Haymon.
Pallbearers will be; Tyler Haymon, Matthew Haymon, Chad Haymon, Todd Haymon, Gene Haymon, Rodney Johnson, Royal Alexander and Wilke Richmond.
Honorary Pallbearers will be; J.D. Haymon, Huel Haymon, Roy Lee Snell, Lynn Powell, George Thompson, Richard Brooks, Joe Gay, Garland McInnis, Clyde Holloway and Brent Cosio.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home or Old Anacoco Youth Group.
