Funeral services for Demetrius Ray Thomas, 20, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the First Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Leesville with Rev. James L. Gaither, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 13th from 9 am - until service time in the church.
On May 22, 1992, Demetrius Ray Thomas was born to the union of Lucille Kenebrew Thomas Payton and Robert E. Thomas. He departed this life to be with his Heavenly Father on April 6, 2013.
He was a graduate of Leesville High School Class of 2010 where he was a football player. He loved being a Wampus Cat! He enjoyed fishing, sports and motorcycles. He was a member of First Saint Paul MBC where he served as an usher. He worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at The Woodlands Nursing Home until his death. To his parents he was their buddy, their heart and their world.
He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life; his parents Lucille Kenebrew Thomas Payton, Stanley Payton, and Robert Thomas, one son Emanuel Thomas and his mother, Kirhia Colton, one sister Georgrina Thomas Worthy (Timothy) of Valdosta, GA; one brother Robert Thomas, Jr., (Sheena) of Merritta, GA; his grandmother Minnie Lee Thomas; his fiancée Mackenzie Nolen and her children, Brylie Nolen and Braylon Garrett; and two nephews, Aiden Thomas and Timothy Worthy, Jr. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.
