Delores Maedell Yates' Obituary
Funeral services for Delores Maedell Yates, 75, of Katy, Texas, will be held Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 12:00 noon at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Leesville with Rev. Joseph Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Leesville. Visitation will be Friday, April 30th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. also at the church. Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Delores, the daughter of William and Ruth Mae Jones Cobbs, was born on May 31, 1934 in Pensacola, FL. She passed away on April 24, 2010 at her residence in Katy, Texas.
She worked for Civil Service at Fort Polk for thirty years and retired as a Dental Hygienist. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Past Worthy Matrons Lodge #71. She loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Yates and son Sherry.
She is survived by sons, Troy (wife, Nancy) of Stockton, CA & Rory (wife, Yong-A) of Campbell, CA, daughters, Darryl(husband, Wilbert) of Spring, TX, Monique of Houston, TX, & Violet (husband, Chris) of Killeen, TX, brothers, Curtis Covington & Virgil Rucker both of CA, three nieces, Shirley Cleveland (husband, Tommy), Helen McClendon (husband, Joseph) & Lynette Jones all of Chicago, IL, eighteen grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren.
