Delma Pearl Ingalls Tyrrell's Obituary

Delma Pearl Ingalls Tyrrell, 75, departed this life and entered into her heavenly rest on July 7th, 2009 at 11:08 a.m. while surrounded by loved ones at her Leesville home. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 57 years, Mr. Tom Tyrrell, Sr., her three children, Col. Tom Tyrrell, Jr. (Debbie), Cheryl Jarrell (Leo), and Terri Tyrrell and her grandchildren: James Hawkins, Jonathan Tyrrell (Julia), Kenneth Tyrrell, Chelsea Wilson (Grant), Laura Tyrrell, Jessica Devane, and Anthony Ingalls. She leaves behind 3 younger siblings, Jerrell Ingalls, Marion Ingalls, and Selma Dugas. Delma is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones, including Ms. Rose Ingalls of Leesville, LA. Delma was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pearl Ingalls, and her beloved granddaughter Kristin Jones.
Delma Tyrrell was born in Port Arthur, TX on July 26, 1933 and grew up in central Louisiana. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed playing the piano, reading, writing, listening to gospel music, and entertaining friends and family. Delma worked as a civil servant for over 20 years before retiring and was an active member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church. She was known for her dedication to her family, unending generosity, determined spirit, and her steadfast faith in Christ. Her vivacious personality and compassionate heart will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 9th at Laurel Hill Baptist Church in Leesville, LA, burial will follow in the Laurel Hill cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral of Leesville. Visitation will be between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on July 8th at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville, LA.
