Delaris Weldon Landry's Obituary
Delaris Weldon Landry, 91, of DeRidder, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025. She was born on September 10, 1934, in Pitkin, Louisiana, and lived a long, meaningful life marked by quiet strength, deep thoughtfulness, and a love for the simple joys of music and reading. Though she often kept to herself, Delaris cherished every moment spent with her beloved twin sister, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond.
Delaris was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Ray Woodard; her daughter, Karan W. Augustine; her son, Clinton R. Woodard; parents, Henry R. and Bessie M. Weldon; her sisters, LaDonna Kay Daigle, Iva Lea Bishop, Earline Weldon, Nettie Lou Voissin; her brothers, William (Billy) Weldon, Norman Weldon, and Kenneth Weldon and her great-granddaughter, Ava Augustine.
Left to treasure her memory are her children, Joseph R. Woodard and wife Jodi Britton, of DeRidder, Louisiana, Kimberly W. Lee and husband Jonathan W. Lee, of DeRidder, Louisiana; her sisters, Dolores Thompson and Audrey Ortego; and her brother, David Weldon.
Her legacy continues through her many grandchildren, Jamie and wife Katie Augustine of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Melissa and husband Todd Buxton of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Tierney L. and husband Kevin Poda of Goodview, Virginia; Noah R. Lee of DeRidder, Louisiana; Nathan A. and wife Ronica Lee of Merryville, Louisiana; Miranda A. Lee of Detroit, Michigan; and Elijah Lee of Detroit, Michigan.
She is also survived by a large and loving family of great-grandchildren, Joshua Roberts, Elizabeth Larza, Bryce Roberts, Madison Buxton, Maison Roberts, Nicholas Buxton, Michael Buxton, Regan Dronette, Alexa Augustine, Grayson Augustine, McKenna Chesson, Sloan Augustine, Maria Lee, Paige Poda, Emily Lee, Kimberly Lee, Annabelle Lee, Deklen Lee, Rheannon Lee, Abel R. Lee, Korina Evans, Miranda Blair, and Alyssa Santos.
Her great-great-grandchildren include, Aisleigh E., Charleigh E., Lincoln B., Lexon B., Everett R., Oliver R., Josephine L., and Magnolia L..
Delaris will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of learning, and the quiet dignity with which she carried herself throughout her life.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
All services are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, Louisiana.
