D.C. "Cliff" Nance's Obituary
Funeral services for D.C. “Cliff” Nance, 85, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Family Worship Center in Leesville with Rev. Kenneth Williams, Rev. Rodney Tilley & Rev. Melton Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Leesville Cemetery in Leesville, LA under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm - 9 pm, Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the funeral home and on Sunday, July 24th, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the church.
Cliff, the son of Hugh and Susan Ozera Cathey Nance was born on June 18, 1926, in Hopeville, Arkansas. He passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at his residence in Leesville, LA. Mr. Nance graduated in 1947 from Diesel Mechanic College in Nashville, TN; after graduating he went on to work as an offshore welder. He was part owner of Leesville Lumber & Trucking Company from 1964 to 1985. He was a rancher & farmer and loved gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Nance; daughter, Vicki Ennis and two brothers, Elmer & Oliver Nance.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Emogene Nance of Leesville; son, Dan Nance & wife Donna of Leesville; daughter, Marilyn Oden & husband Joe of Leesville;daughter-in-law, Rene' Nance Duhon; sisters, Ruth “Birdie” Boldon of Pine Bluff, AR & Beadie Alexander of Morrilton, AR; seven grandchildren, Joey Oden, Stacey Oden, Ron Ennis, Jason Ennis, Josh Nance, Ashley Nance & Tanner Nance and eight great grandchildren.
