David Wayne Woodham's Obituary
David Wayne Woodham died Monday, January 3, 2022, in the comfort of his home in Leesville, Louisiana, surrounded by family. He passed peacefully in his favorite place, by his fireplace, warming his puppies, Bandit and Gumbo.
Wayne was born on June 25, 1944, to parents Lucille and Ned Woodham. He married “his heart” as he called her, Vickie Lynn Woodham, on July 12, 1991, where they shared a love of a lifetime and created the home of their dreams. He was a jack of all trades regarding air conditioning, electrical work, and so much more. His true gift and talent was carpentry, where he invested all of his love into beautiful projects to be shared with family. He shared his talents and kind heart with the world from Algiers, Bosnia, Iraq, to Angola State Petitionary, and though he enjoyed traveling the world, his true joy was coming home to Vernon Parish with his family. He also was a lifelong reader with his favorites being the Bible and Louis L’Amour Western novels to be enjoyed in his favorite recliner.
A Funeral service will be hosted on 1/7/2022 at 12:00 p.m. in the Simpson First Assembly of God. He will be buried in a peaceful field by his home, which he prepared beforehand by planting beautiful green grass among the trees. The cemetery is to be named “Woodhams Garden of Memories,” aptly named from one of his favorite Louis L’Amour novels. He will be laid to rest among the home and nature that he treasured so deeply.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 6:00 P.M– 10:00 P.M in the church.
