Funeral services for David Wayne Thomas,66, of Rosepine, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder with Rev. Jim Miers officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosepine Cemetery. Services are entrusted to the care of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.David was born on December 22, 1955 in Bryan, Texas to his parents, Charles Dorman and Reta Jeanette Gunn Thomas. He passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022 in Alexandria, Louisiana.David was raised in Arlington, Texas and spent most of his life there. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama. He was a die-hard Bama football fan “Roll Tide”. David also loved his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. He loved projects and could fix and build anything. David was always willing to help others at a moment’s notice. He doted on his grandchildren.David and his wife just moved here from Ft. Worth, Texas; this past December hoping to enjoy the country life with their Midkiff Family. David was a kind, gentle & smart man, that will be forever missed but never forgotten.He is preceded in death by his father, Dorman Thomas.Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 43 years, Angela Thomas of Rosepine; daughter, Stacy Thomas of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Eric White of Rosepine; grandchildren, Makayla Dorris, Madison Dorris & Logan Brown; mother, Jeanette Thomas of Tyler, Texas; brothers, Michael Thomas of Tyler, Texas and Steven Thomas of Dallas, Texas; uncle, C.R. & wife, Shirley T. Midkiff of Cottonwood; special friends, Bob & Cindy Durham of Azle, Texas and Mike & Joan Hallmark of North Richland Hills, Texas and a host of other special friends. The family extends their appreciation to the Rosepine first responders and all that assisted in this time of need.
