David Larry Cryer, Sr.'s Obituary
Funeral services for David Larry Cryer, Sr., 59, of Rosepine will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Rosepine United Pentecostal Church in Rosepine, LA, with Rev. Gary Bankson officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosepine Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Services are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Mr. Cryer the son, of Wid and Adel Nash Cryer was born, November 24, 1950 in Leesville, LA. He passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville.
David was a welder with Smith Welding Company in Freeport, TX until his retirement. He moved back to his birthplace in 1992 and was active in the community, and he especially loved helping family, friends and the elderly. David was always in a hurry and loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Luauna Cryer of Rosepine, LA; one son, David Larry Cryer, Jr. of Brazoria TX; one step son Toby Lavender & wife Jessica of Wichita Falls, TX; one daughter Melissa Jean Shipman & husband Larry of Clute, TX; two step daughters, Lana Rutland of Jacksonville, Fl and Candice Allen of Jacksonville, FL; mother Adel Nash Cryer Swain & husband James Leon; two brothers, James Edward Cryer & wife Tammie of Leesville, LA, Billy Luzon Cryer of Freeport, TX; two step brothers Gary Swain & wife Frances of Ottis, LA and Scott Swain & wife Sherre’ of Deville, LA; one sister Betty Marie Cryer of Burleson, TX; seven grandchildren; three uncles; one aunt and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Wid Cryer and 1st wife Brenda Jean Brumbelow Cryer.
