David Neal Clendening's Obituary
David Neal Clendening, 65, of Houston, Texas, passed away on February 5, 2021 from stroke related complications. He was born on November 21, 1955. David was an intelligent person and was always giving advice to someone about something whether they asked for it or not. He was a fun loving kinda of guy who liked to tell stories and crack jokes. He was known to his friends as “Big Dave”. David never met a stranger. He would talk to anyone and would greet people with his “hey hey hey”. He loved to play golf and fish. He loved to go on fishing trips with the guys whenever he got the chance. More recently, he enjoyed playing games online with friends and family and loved to play poker. David always said he was enjoying his retirement. While living in Houston, Texas, David met and married the love of his life Wendy Clendening. They married on October 18, 1991 and have been married for 29 years. They had one son together, Brandon Terrell Clendening. David has two older sons, David Wayne and Jody Lee Clendening. David is preceded in death by his mother, Frances Shaw; brother, George B Clendening; grandparents, George and Hazel Terrell. David is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Wendy Clendening; brother, Mark Clendening and wife Marilyn of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Pat Rumley of Houston, TX and Peggy Condiff of DeRidder, LA; sons, Brandon Clendening and wife Victoria of Port Vincent, LA, Jody Clendening and wife Mandy of DeRidder, LA, and David W. Clendening who is currently living abroad; 7 grandchildren, Lauren Clendening, Dorothy Clendening, Abbie Clendening, JJ Clendening, Julie Clendening, and Claire Clendening all of DeRidder, LA and his latest grandson Jack Clendening of Port Vincent, Louisiana Funeral services will be at Smyrna Baptist Church on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 11:00 am followed with burial at Smyrna Baptist Church cemetery under the care of Labby Memorial Funeral Home, DeRidder, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Smyrna Baptist Church, 230 Smyrna Church Road, DeRidder, LA.His wife wants to say to him, what he always said at the end of a phone conversation, and that’s… “Well go at it and have some fun!”
