David Curl Chisholm, 69, of DeRidder, LA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Rosepine, LA, on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Read Obituary
LuAn and I share our love and deepest sympathy with Peggy, Laura and Claude, Bill, and all the family. It was a joy to know such a good man as David. And he could sure cook a great steak! The fight is o'er, the battle done. The victory of Christ is won. Alleluia!

Peggy, Laura, and Claude,\r\n\r\nDennis and I were saddened to hear of David's death. He has been so strong and upbeat for so long! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
When I was a kid I remember Bro. Chisholm when he was on the Alexandria Stake High Council and would to come to Many Ward. I loved to see him and he always would take the time to talk to me a brief moment no matter what. I sure hated to hear of his passing.
I worked with and for Dave for many years. He was the best \"rubber band\" shooter I have ever seen for sure. I did recieve a tour of the \"reloading room\". I always thought that I would head to his house if southeast Texas were invaded.\r\n\r\nWe carpooled to Olin Chemical back in the early 1980's. Dave always drank a big glass of milk in the mornings and when it was my week to drive, he would complain that by the time we got to work in my 4x4 Chevy his milk was turned into a milk shake. I could tell a bunch of Dave Chisholm stories.\r\n\r\nMy sympathy to the family. I hold Dave in high regard.
Uncle David was always there for me when I needed advice on my life, my relationships or my career, and I treasure the times he spent with me. Some of our most memorable conversations were about how we often cannot control anything around us - but our attitudes, and if we can control our attitude, we have all the control we need. \r\n\r\nHis amazing sense of humor remains with me and is echoed in the laughter of my children and grandchildren. The jokes always started off with, \"Now, this is a true story. . . !\" and he would launch into as improbable a tale as ever was told.\r\n\r\nHe got me started on my current career path as an electrical designer. I went to work for him as a temporary clerk and once he saw my willingness to work hard, he saw to it that I received the opportunities to learn more and advance.\r\n\r\nI have never heard an unkind word about Uncle Davie from anyone who ever did business with him, and that is much, much more than can be said of most.\r\n\r\nI'll miss him always.
We are grateful to have had David as a friend and mentor. What he said, and what he did, will continue to encourage and inspire us. Thank you, God, for David Chisholm.
I was so happy to see Uncle Dave at dad's funeral. I know it took a great deal of effort for him to be there (thanks for bringing him Peggy). Dad loved him so much.\r\n\r\nI'll always remember the funny mishaps he and dad shared. The stories are endless and always make me smile. \r\n\r\nI owe so much to Uncle David and thank him for opening the door, for me and my family, to the petrochemical industry in this area. He gave me my first job after I moved to Orange.\r\n\r\nI was going through my phone messages the other day and found one from him telling me that he missed and loved me. It made me cry....He was a precious man and I miss him so much...
