David Leo Cabra's Obituary
Funeral services for David Leo Cabra, 43, of Hornbeck, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Grace Assembly Church in Hornbeck with Rev. Wayne Chance and Rev. Melvin Hatten officiating. Burial will follow in the Beckom Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 11th from 5 p.m. – until time of service December 12th in the church.
David, the son of Teddy Raymond and Christene Blackmon Cabra was born December 27, 1968, in Leesville, LA. He passed away Sunday, December 9th, at his residence in Hornbeck, LA.
Mr. Cabra graduated in 1986 from Hornbeck High School. He went to the Full Sail Music School in Florida where he graduated in 1987. He then went to the Electronic Instrumentation School in Alexandria and graduated in 1989. He worked with the Fort Polk Pyrotechnics & Live Fire where he took part in training the FBI out of New Orleans and 5th Battalion. He was the logistics coordinator in Tikrit, Iraq where he witnessed the Black Hawk when it went down. He was only one mile from where they captured Sadam and his palace. He had a lot of experiences overseas that changed his life.
David was highly appreciative and supported all Veterans and all Military. He posted on his Face Book and the Louisiana Black Label Society Chapter about the Fallen Soldiers and how he supported them and how much he respected them. He was responsible for setting up the Louisiana Black Label Society; a special thank you to all its members who have left condolences for the family.
David was a very talented Rock Musician who loved his family and music.
He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents, Leo Cabra, Melmo McCoullough, Lonnie and Vina Blackmon and sister-in-law, Sherry Cabra.
He is survived by his wife, Malissa Cabra of Hornbeck, LA; son, Nathan “Junior” Condon & wife, Nicole of Hornbeck, LA; daughter, Jodi Condon of Hornbeck, LA; mother, Chris Cabra of Hornbeck, LA; brother, Teddy Cabra of Hornbeck, LA and grandchildren, Aja Mae Condon and Kylee Shea Condon.
