Dalton Lane Withers' Obituary
Funeral services for Dalton Lane Withers, 73, of Hornbeck, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Prewitt’s Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Huey Haymon and Rev. Nick Hilton officiating. Burial will follow in the Prewitt’s Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m., Friday, August 10th, at the funeral home and on Saturday, August 11th from 9:00 am until service time in the church.
Dalton Lane Withers, the son of Lacy Leon Withers and Delia Owers Withers, was born October 16, 1938, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He entered eternal rest Thursday, August 9, 2012, in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 73 years 9 months and 24 days.
Mr. Withers retired from Civil Service and served in the National Guard. He was a member of Prewitt’s Chapel Baptist Church. He was a family man and provided well for his family. He also loved to play dominos and enjoyed “aggravating” his friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Delia Withers, and one sister, Janie O’Nell Williams.
Mr. Withers is survived by his Wife of 54 Years, Dorothy Withers of Hornbeck, Louisiana his daughters, Lillian Wise of Hornbeck, Louisiana and Penny Volpe & husband Jack of Hornbeck, Louisiana; Stepson, Randolph Williams of Hornbeck, Louisiana, Sisters, Patsy Sanderson of Houston, Texas, Merle June Salter of Hornbeck, Louisiana and Winnie Rae Moore of Hornbeck, Louisiana, Grandchildren; Jessica Jinks & husband Jason of Anacoco, Louisiana and Sheena Buchanan & husband Chris of Hornbeck, Louisiana and Great Grandchild Gage Lane Jinks of Anacoco, Louisiana
