Dalton David Owen's Obituary
Funeral services for David Owen, 77, of DeRidder, LA, will be held Monday, October 19, 2009, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder with Rev. Dale Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery in Providence Community, LA, under the direction od Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be from 3 P.M. until 9 P.M., Sunday, October 18, 2009, and from 9 A.M. until service time, Monday, October 19, 2009, all in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Mr. Owen passed away Friday, October 16, 2009, in Rapides General Medical Center in Alexandria, LA. He wasborn in Mississippi, but had lived in DeRidder for the past forty-five years. He was a retired mechanic having worked for General Motors dealerships prior to being self-employed for the past fourteen years. He also drove the van for BARC.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Owen of DeRidder; sons, Lawrence Owen of Anacoco, LA, Douglas Davis of Miami, FL, and Jim Davis of DeRidder; daughters, Peggy Stephens and Lesia West, both of DeRidder, Alma Tallaksen of Winder, GA, and Cathy Yielding of Rosepine, LA; sister, helen Tims of Lumberton, MS; sixteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
