Craig Steven Thompson's Obituary
Craig Steven Thompson, of DeRidder, Louisiana, passed away in his home on November 3, 2025. Craig was born on February 15, 1960, in Elizabeth, Louisiana. He was a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, that lived a life that was as vibrant and colorful as the landscapes of his cherished home state.
Craig is survived by his mother Lucille Young of DeRidder, Louisiana; son, Steven Bosley of Baytown, Texas; two brothers, Gilbert Thompson of Leesville, Louisiana and Robert Thompson of DeRidder, Louisiana; one sister, Shantell Ruiz of Sugar Town, Louisiana; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his father Clayton Thompson and his sister Dorothy Thompson—a loss that left an indelible mark on his heart.
Craig spent his life doing what he loved most-working outdoors and living the cowboy way. As a dedicated ranch hand, he took great pride in his work and the life he built through hard work and grit. He was known for his rough edges, his quick wit, and his unmistakable sense of humor that could bring laughter to any room.
A true country soul, Craig loved music, riding horses, collecting antiques, and working on trucks. He had an appreciation for the simple things and found joy in the open air and the company of good people.
Craig will be remembered for his hard-working spirit, his humor, and the love he shared with family and friends. His memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and lives of those who knew him best. As we gather to celebrate Craig's life at the graveside service scheduled for November 5th at 11:00 AM at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder—we honor not only what he accomplished but also how deeply he touched our lives.
