Corliss Lynn Powell, 74, entered peacefully into rest on Monday, November 11, 2024 at her home in Merryville, Louisiana. Corliss was born on August 4, 1950, in Jasper, Texas to Dick and Verline Stanley Jeans.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 12:00 PM, at Meadow’s Cemetery with Rev. Jason Fortenberry officiating. Funeral services are under the care and direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.
Corliss was a spirited woman whose life was enriched by deep conversations, compassionate care, and unwavering love. A lifelong caregiver, she worked as an LPN, dedicating countless years to helping others until her well-earned retirement. Beyond her career, the brightest star in her life was her granddaughter, Hailea. To Corliss, Hailea was the essence of joy and the center of her world.
Left to cherish her memory are granddaughter, Hailea Hammond of DeRidder, sister, Shelia Jones of Merryville, and brother, Stan and wife Laura Jeans of Singer as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loved ones, daughter, Michelle Powell Hammond and parents, Dick and Verline Jeans.
