Clyde Edward Bridges' Obituary
Funeral services for Clyde Edward Bridges, 88, of Leesville will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jack Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, February 15, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
Mr. Bridges was a lifetime resident of Vernon Parish. He married the love of his life Maxine in 1951. He served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged to return home to raise his family. He worked for many years at Cain Motor Company before it became McRae Ford, and at Pynes Chrysler in Leesville as a Parts Manager. He was a Deacon and member of East Leesville Baptist Church. He was a humble and caring man who gave generously to multiple charitable organizations. He loved to garden and read and watch soap operas with his wife. When He and Maxine could no longer attend church due to health they loved watching the First Baptist Church of Leesville every week on the local cable station.
Edward is preceded in death by his wife: Maxine Bridges.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Richard Bridges and his girlfriend Debra Richards of Jacksonville, TX, Janet Perkins and her husband Jack of Ft. Gibson, OK, and Marilyn Pettiette and her husband Jeff of St. Petersburg, FL; One Brother: Clifton Bridges of Hornbeck, LA; One Sister: Orelee Patton of Anacoco, LA; Eight Grandchildren: Wendy & Jason Helm, Jason Perkins, Amy & Shawn Hearn, Richard Bridges, Mary & Ben Sidelinger, Paul Bridges, Monica Pettiette, and Amy & Jeff Castleberry; Thirteen Great Grandchildren; And a Host of Nieces and Nephews.
In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the LA Baptist Children’s Home in Monroe, LA.
