Clayton Hildebrand passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024.
A gathering to celebrate Clayton's life will be held at Labby Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Clayton was born on November 21, 1946, in Ft. Benning, Georgia, but was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish. He graduated from Simpson High School in 1964. He was dedicated to his career in the timber industry. Clayton found joy in the simple things, like spending time with his beloved dogs and going fishing.
He lived a colorful life, characterized by his unique sense of humor and unwavering, sometimes even unnecessary honesty. But above all, it was his loyalty to his friends that stood out. Despite his gruff exterior, he had a heart of gold. He will be fondly remembered by his close circle of friends and acquaintances who appreciated his no-nonsense approach to life and wonderful commentary.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ponder Hildebrand, his mother, Beulah Mantz, and his brothers.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital or The American Heart Association.
Clayton Hildebrand will be deeply missed by all who know him. May he rest in peace.
