Claudine Mays Wisby's Obituary
Claudine Mays Wisby, born March 14, 1940 in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed from her earthly body, November 25, 2016 at her home in Rosepine, LA. Visitation will be held at Labby Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA, Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm with interment at Rosepine Cemetery. Bro. Lindsey Burns, Bro. Gary Bankston, Bro. Joshua Eubanks, and Bro. Lynn Clayton will be officiating her service.
Claudine’s parents were Luther Mack Mays and Vivian Louise Olds Mays. Claudine attended Fairpark High School in Shreveport, LA and graduated from McNeese University in Medical Technology where she worked as a Medical Technologist for 25 years at Beauregard Memorial Hospital, DeRidder, LA. She was a member of Rosepine Eastern Star Chapter 204 where she was Worthy Matron in 1982. Claudine was an active member of First Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA, member of the Joy Singers and Celebration Choir. She enjoyed singing in the Living Christmas Tree for several years. Claudine enjoyed going on Senior Mission and Family Mission trips and being a part of a wonderful group of ladies in her Sunday School class. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, arts and crafts and oil painting.
Claudine was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Vivian Mays and her sister Geraldine Mays.
Claudine has left to cherish her life in 56 years of marriage is her husband, Milton Ray Wisby, Sr of Rosepine, LA and her children, daughters Sherry Lynne Wisby of Rosepine, LA, Tammy Renee Gill and husband Vance of Dry Creek, LA, Karen Marie Autin and husband John of Oberlin, LA, and son Milton Ray Wisby, Jr. and wife Lisa of Rosepine, LA. Grandchildren: Joshua Beard, Tabitha Cooley, Tiffany Gill, Brady Cooley, Logan Slaydon, Jordyn Wisby Knowlton, Morgan Wisby, Mackenzie Wisby, John Autin, IV, and Baylee Autin and Oni Boudreaux. Great grandchildren: Dakota Strother, Demi Strother, Kyler Cooley, Bowen Knowlton, Max Cooley and Boone Knowlton. Brother Eric Mays and wife Gloria, sister-in-law’s, Maggie Inman and Doris Wisby and her aunt Hazel Bernard, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to First Baptist Church of DeRidder building fund.
