Christopher Russell Bainer's Obituary
Christopher Russell Bainer, of Slagle, passed away on February 4th, 2022 at the age of 46 years, 9 months and 14 days. He was born in Pasadena, Texas on April 21st, 1975 to Yvonne and Russell Bainer.
Chris resided in Vernon Parish most of his life. He was a member of the CAT program and graduated from Leesville High School in 1997. He enjoyed playing video games, especially Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Chris would let you play with him but would giggle if you answered a question wrong. He loved music of all kinds and would sing along. He would sing Happy Birthday to you even if it wasn’t your birthday and celebrated his birthday all April long. Mickey Mouse was his favorite Disney character. Chris was looking forward to his next trip to Disney World where he would have happily stood in line at each park to hug Mickey and take pictures. He loved long road trips and would try to talk anyone who would listen into stopping for a hamburger, fries and a Dr Pepper. Chris was known to many as Uncle and loved each of his honorary nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne Gordon, father, Russell Bainer; grandfathers, Bobbie K. Hickman, and Sam Ihlenfeldt: grandparents, Ilse and Joseph Bainer; great grandmother, Beulah Gribble; uncles, Harald Bainer, Charlie Bainer and Steve Ihlenfeldt; aunts, Shirley Carey and Patricia Wischer.
Left to cherish his memories are his sister and her husband, Melissa and Chad Koonce of Slagle; nieces and nephews, Brianna Cable (Stetson Carrier) of Sulphur, Christian Cable of Slagle, Alexis Koonce (Sean Bell) of Leesville, and Chandler Koonce of Slagle; great nephew, Quill Carrier of Sulphur; grandmother, Dorothy Hickman of New Llano; uncles, Darrell (Jacki) Ihlenfeldt of Leesville, Mike (Sherry) Bainer of Florida, and Bobby Hickman of New Llano; and many cousins including his favorite of all, Pam Lambert.
