Christine Stracener Prather, 70, of Singer, LA, entered peacefully into rest on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 in Singer, LA. Christine, the daughter of Barney and Daisy (Beaver) Stracener was born on November 28, 1949, in Pitkin, Louisiana.
Visitation will begin Saturday, October 24, 2020, from 12 Noon until Funeral Service begins at 2:00 PM, at Lone Star Baptist Church, 781 Lone Star Church Rd, Sugartown, LA, 70662, with Rev. Johnny Elliott officiating. Interment will follow at Smyrna/Cole Cemetery, Pitkin, LA.
Christine enjoyed working at the CharJer Dental Lab for 30 years as lab technician before retiring. She loved spending time with family and friends and her greatest joy was spoiling her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook and drink coffee on the porch.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of fifty years Leroy Prather of Singer, LA; children Kathleen and Keith Suire of DeRidder, LA, Richard and Dominique Prather of Leesville, LA, David and Rebecca Prather of Singer, LA, Roger Prather of Singer, LA and Gerald Prather of Singer, LA; ten grandchildren Kristy Suire McDonald, Keith Suire, Jr., Serena Prather, Laila Prather, David Lee Prather, Britain Prather, Adrian Richmond, Autumn Mathews, Winter Mathews, Dylan Prather; five great grandchildren Kylie McDonald, Reese Deason, Johnathan Richmond, Jr., Benjamin Richmond, Nolan Richmond; siblings Nancy Ferguson of DeRidder, LA, Florence Haselden of Sugartown, LA and Gerald Stracener of Pitkin, LA.
Preceded in death by her father Barney Stracener; mother Daisy Stracener; siblings Lincoln Stracener, Ray Stracener, Edward Stracener, Nick Stracener, Mertie Tilton, and George Stracener.
Those honored to serve as pallbearer are Richard Prather, David Prather, Roger Prather, Keith Suire, Jr., David Lee Prather and Dylan Prather.
