Chester Lloyd Davis' Obituary
Born in Ardmore, OK, he was a graduate of Harold High School in Harold, TX. Following graduation, he worked in a shipyard in Vajeol, CA, before joining the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy during WWII, he served in the Pacific Theater. He moved to Louisiana in 1948 and worked at Conoco where he was a machinest until retireing. He was an active rancher and a former member of the Beauregard Cattleman's Association.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ellie Davis of DeRidder; son, Allen Davis of DeRidder, daughter , Lynda L. Miller of Westlake, LA; four sisters, Jaquline Strickland of Thackerville, OK, Dorothy McCarley of Anderson, CA, Mildred Whorton of Thackerville, OK, and Ola Christine Dunn of Bedford, TX; five grandchildfren, Shawn Moses and husband Ricky, Wade A. Miller and wife Ellen, Glenn E. Miller and wife Kelly, James D. Miller and wife Jessica, and Waylon L. Davis and wife Darla; and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 18, 2008. in Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder with the Rev. Don Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery near DeRidder. Visitation will be 5-9PM Thursday, April 17, 2008 and from 9AM until service Friday, April 18, 2008 in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
