Charles Travis' Obituary
Charles Allon Travis began his walk by faith on March 1, 1948, and on July 11, 2025 he began his walk by sight. With his loving wife, Becky by his side, he passed away at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana.
Charles was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, and trapping. All of the deer, hogs, rabbits, squirrels, all manner of fish, and other critters are resting easier today. Charles was a life long member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Charles’ enduring legacy includes his wife of 57 years; Rebecca Miers Travis, his two sons; James and his wife Serena, of Columbia and Bret and his wife Tara of Alexandria, six grandchildren; Caroline Jaramillo and husband Xavier, Brittney Travis and her boyfriend Lathan Dennis, Carsyn Travis and boyfriend Ben Ozsoy, Ethan Gossett, Andria Gossett, and Daelynn Travis, and two great grandchildren; Blair Ortiz and Jeremiah Jaramillo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; James and Elsie Travis, his in-laws; Elvin and Louise Miers, and his granddaughter; Jade Travis.
Visitation will be Monday July 14, 2025 from 5:00 PM-7:00PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 10:00AM at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana.
