Charles V. Neely's Obituary
Charles V. Neely, 90, of DeRidder, Louisiana, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 04, 2021 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Charles, the son of Ramsey Vernon Neely and Mildred Wallace Austin Neely was born on February 3, 1931 in Bleakwood, Texas.
Private family graveside service was held in DeRidder, Louisiana, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.
Charles served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for Retail Credit for 19 years, then he was in the Grocery Business for 20 years. He spent the remainder of his life fishing, attending Bilbo and Roberts Church of Christ, and enjoying time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years Myrtle Goins Neely of DeRidder, LA; son Greg Neely and wife Gail of DeRidder, LA; daughter Janet Neely Manuel of Fenton, LA; brothers Ramsey W. Neely of Lawrenceville, GA, Gary Neely of Lockhart, TX, Horace Neely of Hallsville, TX; sisters Angie Duhon of DeRidder, LA, Elsie Coleman of Houston, TX, Loretta McCaig of Houston, TX; five grandchildren Michelle Reed and husband Mark, Kacey Manuel and wife Claire, Katie Plush and husband Brandon, Sydney Neely, and Rylee Neely; eight great grandchildren Abby Langley, Marlee Reed, Lynsey Reed, Dutch Manuel, Charlie Manuel, Tyler Plush, Hayes Plush, and Eiley Plush.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ramsey Vernon Neely and Mildred Wallace Neely; two brothers Hugh Alan Neely and Calvin L. Neely.
