He began his career with the United Gas Company(Entex) in 1955, retiring in 1996.
He was very involved in the community. Volunteer fireman, active in Jaycees, Scoutmaster, loved to coach baseball and encourage the umpires from the sidelines. He loved being a Lions Club member and served many terms as the tail twister. He was very proud to have served as Lion President 2000-2001. Many hours were spent working at the camp and on the Lions rodeo arena.
He was an avid sportsman, spending many years hunting and fishing, weaving great tales of his exploits. He shared his passion for the outdoors with friends and fellow hunters and fishermen.
He was an amateur archeologist. Enjoyed treasure hunting throughout Vernon Parish searching for arrowheads and antique glassware. His children and grandchildren benefited from his many woodworking talents. They are now treasured gifts.
