Charles H. Glaspie's Obituary
Funeral services for Charles H. Glaspie, 66, of Hornbeck, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Prewitt’s Chapel Baptist Church in Hornbeck with Rev. Huey Haymon officiating. Burial will follow in the Florien Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 23rd from 2 p.m. until service time Friday, May 24th at the church.
Charles, the son of James and Juanita Glaspie was born March 7, 1947, in Leesville. He passed away Tuesday, May 21st at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville.
Charles served in the U. S. Marine Corp and was a Vietnam Veteran. He formerly worked for Morris Tire Service in Leesville for many years, Beason Service Station in Florien, drove a school bus for Florien and was a broiler grower for over thirty years. But Charles’ passion was farming “For if God ever made a farmer it was Charles.” Charles was a man of integrity, a man that truly loved his family especially his grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Rae Glaspie of Hornbeck; daughters, Cindy Floore, Candy and Carl Thomas and Leslie Glaspie all of Hornbeck; brother, James Allen and Linda Lou Glaspie of Hornbeck; sisters, Carolyn Fields and Margaret Glaspie and Roger all of Anacoco; grandchildren, Delane, Bret, Justin and Jacie Kae and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
