Charles Winfred Draughn, Sr,'s Obituary
Funeral services for Charles Winfred Draughn, Sr., 81, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 16th, at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville. Burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 15th, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Charles, the son of Dolph and Malvary Draughn, was born May 15, 1934, in Hindman, Kentucky. He passed away at his residence in Leesville, on Wednesday, November 11, 2015.
Mr. Draughn retired after 21 years in the United States Army, which included 5 tours of duty in Korea, twice in Vietnam and Germany. He was a member of the Masonic Orange Lodge in Anacoco. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, and outdoor cooking. Must of all he enjoyed family time; he loved his grandchildren and glowed when his great-grandchildren visited.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elfriede Draughn of Leesville; children, Sylvia Draughn, Charles Troy Draughn, Berniece Brenda Pardue & Douglas Draughn; brother, Jim Draughn and sister, Maggie Jane DeCorte; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital.
