Scott, and entire Cushing family,I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. I know what it's like - I've been there. I would have been there for the funeral, but I just found out too late. Your Dad was my supervisor when I first started working in the Forestry Section on Ft. Polk. I'll never forget the time he was out in the field with us and I was just learning how to spray paint on trees for timber marking. We had stopped to chat and I was trying to remove my glove from my hand at the same time holding the paint gun. As an amateur I squeezed the trigger on the paint gun as I was closing my fingers to grasp the glove on the other hand. I never felt so stupid or so sorry when I sprayed paint on your Dads' belt buckle, shirt and pants. I'm so grateful that he never got upset. I will always remember your Dad as the best supervisor I ever had, and I always admired him as the man he was. With all my regrets,
