Cecil "Buddy" E. Brown, Jr.'s Obituary
Cecil "Buddy" E. Brown, Jr, 79, entered into rest on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at his residence in DeRidder. Cecil was born to Cecil Brown, Sr. and Bonnette Henderson Brown on April 24, 1940 in DeRidder, La.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, February 29, 2020, from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La. Visitation will resume on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at First United Pentecostal Church in DeRidder from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at 2:00 P.M. Officiating the service will be Pastor Zale Lewis of First United Pentecostal Church, assisted by Rev. George Lee Glass, Pastor of Grace Church of DeRidder, La. Interment will follow in the Beauregard Cemetery.
Cecil was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was the DODAAC Coordinator at Fort Polk. He retired after 50 years of service.
Left to cherish Cecil's memory is his wife, Wanda Perkins Brown of DeRidder, La; two sons, Thelton Brown and wife Mickey of DeRidder, La and their children, Mandy Brown of Lake Charles, La and Shelby Brown of DeRidder, La, Davin Brown and wife April of Westlake, La and their children, Kacie Brown, Collin Brown and fiancé Jill Engel and Nathan Brown all of Westlake, La; one daughter, Gayla Heflin and husband Tommy of DeRidder, La and their children, Aaron Heflin and fiancé Crystal Beck of Baton Rouge, La and their sons Brad Beck and Easton Heflin of Baton Rouge, La, Ryan Heflin of Kingsport, TN and Amber Moreau and husband Josh of Baton Rouge, La and their children, Allie and Aubree Powell, Claire and Payton Moreau; two sisters, Dollie Urias and husband Frank and Dimple Gammill both of Lafayette, La.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil E. Brown, Sr. and Bonnette Henderson Brown; brother, Jerry Brown; two sisters, Cecile Howell and Annette McDonald.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mr. Brown’s sons, Thelton Brown and Davin Brown with Mr. Brown’s grandsons, Collin Brown, Nathan Brown, Ryan Heflin and Aaron Heflin.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Heflin and Josh Moreau.
