Catherine “Rosella” Heath, 84, of DeRidder, LA, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Rosepine, LA.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at 1:00 P.M.,First United Pentecostal Church of DeRidder, LA with Rev. Zale Lewis, Rev. Jeff Phillips and Rev. Roy Thomson officiating. Interment will follow in Beauregard Cemetery, DeRidder, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder. Visitation will be held Monday, June 6, 2011,
5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the church and Tuesday, beginning at 10:00 A. M. until the time of the service.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Alpha J. Heath of DeRidder, LA; two sons,
Rev. Stephen C. Simmons and wife Nancy of Rosepine, LA and
Rev. Rex A. Simmons and wife Linda of Beaumont, TX;
two daughters,
Linda Carolyn Good and husband George of DeRidder, LA and
Lorretta Sue Cooley and husband Roger of DeRidder, LA;
one brother,Curtis Young and wife Willa Dean of DeRidder, LA;
two sisters,
Yvonne Manning of DeRidder, LA and
Jewel Gilbert of DeRidder, LA
20 Grandchildren,44 Great Grandchildren and 17 Great, Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; Lonee Young and Pearlie Cole Young; first husband, Percy W. Simmons; two sons, Randy W. Simmons and Samuel M. Simmons; three brothers,Ocie Young, R. V. Young and J. L. Young and
three sisters; Mytis Harper, Myrtle Harper and Bonnie Cooley.
Catherine Rose “Rosella” Heath was born on April 10, 1927,
to Lonie Young and Pearlie Cole Young in DeRidder, Louisiana
“Rosella” lived in DeRidder all of her life and she was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of DeRidder.
She was so dedicated to her husband and children.
She was committed to bringing hope and healing
to the broken hearted; very sensitive to those in need.
She carried the needs of numerous people to the “Throne of Grace”.
Her prayers were instrumental in
constructing churches in numerous places. “Rosella” had an immeasurable love for her entire family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
