Catharine Lockwood's Obituary
Catharine Ann Lockwood, 75, entered peacefully into rest on Thursday, March 28, 2024, in DeRidder, Louisiana. Catharine was born on January 11, 1949, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Manuel and Alice Orique.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 10:00 AM, at the First United Methodist Church of DeRidder with Rev. Laraine Waughtal, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville with full military honors. Services under the care of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Catharine served with honor and distinction in the United States Army where she served as a registered nurse.
She would go on to retire for Bayne Jones Army Community Hospital at the rank of Major. She was a very caring person, who was ready to lend a helping hand to anyone when she could. She loved her church and her church family and was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of DeRidder where she served faithfully in the choir when her health permitted. She loved all of Gods creatures and helped raise many wonderful animals. But most of all, she loved her family who will deeply miss her. Her passing will leave a void in the hearts of all, but her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Timothy Lockwood of DeRidder and Bryan Lockwood and wife Andrea of Arkansas; former daughter-law, Madelyn Pruitt of DeRidder; two grandchildren, Taylor Cobb and Caleb Lockwood; two brothers, Doug Orique of California and David Orique and wife Patty of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Sally Essy and husband Ted of Sacramento, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceded in death by parents, Manuel and Alice Orique; and her loving husband, William Lockwood.
The United States Army Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.
