Casey James Sherer's Obituary
Graveside services for Casey James Sherer, 68, of Rosepine, LA will be held at 10:30 A M, Sunday, November 6, 2016, in Dry Creek Cemetery, Dry Creek, LA, with Deacon Al Weinnig officiating. Burial will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery, DeRidder, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 6, 2016, from 10:00 AM until the service at the cemetery.
Casey was born April 14, 1948, to Coyle and Doreen Patterson Sherer in White Bear, Minnesota. He passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016, in Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder, LA. He lived most of his life in Dry Creek, LA and the last two years in Rosepine, LA. He was a printer by trade working for Alta Printing and Port Printing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bar-b-queing, camping and family gatherings. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Viet Nam during the war and earning the Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruby Moses Sherer, two brothers, Kelly Sherer and Tim Sherer. He is survived by his daughter, Kayce Johnson and husband Eddie of Rosepine, LA; five sisters, Shannon Cilek, Patsy Harholdt (Bill), Peggy Koegel and Maureen Koenker (Rod) all of Minnesota, and Shelia Olson (Dale) of Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Colton Johnson, Coleburn Johnson, Corman Johnson and Coryn Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
