Carolyn Sue Thompson's Obituary
Carolyn Sue Thompson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and all-around funny lady, passed away on August 15, 2024 in DeRidder, Louisiana. Born on November 4, 1943 to Howard and Inez Bradford, Carolyn lived a full and complete life.
Sue graduated from Georgetown High School where she attended Northwestern State University where she played basketball. While attending college she was roommates with Evelyn (Midkiff) Thompson who introduced her to a handsome tall young man, who later became her husband.
Sue was married to her loving husband Brent Thompson for 57 years, and together they raised three children. Sue went on to work at City Savings Bank for 25 years before retiring to pursue another career. She then went on to work at Rosepine Elementary where she was a teachers aid for special Ed., She moved on to Rosepine High School where she worked in the office and finally retired in 2021 at the age of 78 with over 20 years of service.
Sue had a knack for finding humor in every situation and could always bring a smile to the faces of those around her especially with her stories of GASBO to her nieces and nephews. Not many knew but when she was alone she would write beautiful verses of poetry down, sometimes on a napkin or store receipt. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, gentle soul, and unwavering love for her family.
Sue will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but we can take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her loved ones who passed before her. As we say goodbye to Sue, let I us remember the joy and laughter she brought into our lives and cherish the memories we shared with her.
Sue leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will forever be cherished by those who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
