Callie "Sis" Delores Grant's Obituary
Callie "Sis" Delores Grant, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, at 76. Born November 28, 1948, in Leesville, Louisiana, Callie lived a life marked by determination, joy, and an unwavering love for her family.
She was the daughter of Fred Mecom Grant and Laverne Mae Cooley Grant, who preceded her in death. Callie's early years were spent surrounded by the warmth of her family, where she developed her passionate spirit and her ability to love fiercely, especially the children in her life. She cherished her role as an aunt, loving and nurturing her nieces and nephews with boundless affection and encouragement.
Callie was preceded in death by her father, Fred Mecom Grant; her mother, Laverne Mae Cooley Grant; and her brothers, Freddie Grant and Douglas Grant. She is survived by her brother, John Daniel Grant, and his wife, Debra of Simpson, Louisiana, as well as her sisters, Marilyn Smith and her husband, Dewayne of Gardner, Louisiana, and Debbie Norman and her husband, Jon of Alexandria, Louisiana. The bond among the siblings was one of love and support, and they will forever hold Callie's memory close to their hearts.
Callie was known throughout her life for her determination and capacity to enjoy life. A truly happy soul, she had a remarkable ability to remember and honor the loved ones she lost. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A funeral service to celebrate Callie's life will be held at Silver Creek Baptist Church on January 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services. Friends and family are warmly invited to share in this remembrance of a woman whose spirit was as vibrant as the love she shared.
In this time of sorrow, the family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. William McBride III, Heart of Hospice, and the dedicated staff on the sixth floor of Rapides Regional Medical Center for their exceptional care and compassion during Callie's final days.
Though she has left this earthly realm, Callie Delores Grant's memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her legacy of love, determination, and joy will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, dear Callie. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will shine on in the lives you touched.
