Byrl “Bud” Shaw, 83, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed from this life on April 11, 2018 in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born on December 7, 1934, in Gove County, Kansas, the son of Earl Joseph and Aldena B. (Whismore) Shaw. Visitation will begin Thursday, April 19, 2018, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, in the Smyrna Baptist Church in Sugartown, LA. Graveside service will begin at 10:00 AM with Rev. Frank Ott officiating at the Smyrna Cemetery. “Bud” was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving from 1957 to 1958. He married Doris Jean (Deason) Shaw on April 2, 1988. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Doris Jean Shaw; brother, Herbert Shaw of Sugartown; brother-in-law, G. L. Deason of Colorado; sister-in-law, Yvonne Shaw; step-children, Lt. Col. Will Pruitt, of the USAF, Jeanna Weeks of Beaumont, TX. 5 grandchildren; and those who called him Uncle Bud, 6 nieces; 4 nephews; 27 great nieces and nephews; 28 great-great nieces and nephews; 2 great-great-great nieces and nephews; and many in-laws. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bob Shaw of Sugartown; two half-brothers, Charles Carter of Utica, KS, Harold Carter of Mittie, LA, and one nephew, Eddie Carter of DeQuincy, LA. In lieu of flower, he asked that you donate to your local church youth group.
