Funeral service for Bruce Carroll, 65 of DeRidder, LA will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA with Rev. Arlin Smith and John Blankenbaker officiating. Burial will be at 11:30 AM on Thursday at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Fort Polk, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder. Mr. Carroll passed from this life on Friday, January 24, 2014, at Alexandria, LA.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Thursday, January 30, 2014, 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home in DeRidder.
Bruce was born on August 29, 1948, to Harry and Hazel Whitaker Carroll in DeRidder, LA and was a lifelong resident of DeRidder. Bruce was employed as a local and cross country truck driver for 32 years. He proudly served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He passed from this life on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Alexandria, LA.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Barbara Johnson Carroll of DeRidder, LA; 2 sons, James Antony Carroll of Pine Prairie, LA and Jeffrey Burgess of Copperas Cove, TX; 3 daughters, Vanessa Lynn Carroll of DeRidder, LA, Rosanna Trabue of Mittie, LA and Jozetta Burgess of DeRidder, LA; 3 brothers, David Carroll of Bolton, MA, Dolphy Carroll of DeRidder, LA and Donald Carroll of DeRidder, LA; 3 sisters, JoAnn Mabini of Rosepine, LA, Maxine Alexander of Rosepine, LA and Jean Coker of DeRidder, LA and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Butch Carroll and 4 sisters, Argelene Blankenbaker, Mamie Teston, Amie Joyce Fox and Betty Ann Fontenot.
