Brandon Lee Mason's Obituary
Brandon Lee Mason, 38, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on April 30, 2025, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Born on April 26, 1987, in DeRidder, Louisiana. Brandon is survived by his loving mother Laurie Prather and her husband Roger and his father Mark Mason and his wife Tammy. Brandon was a vibrant spirit whose laughter could light up any room.
From an early age, Brandon was known for his infectious sense of humor. A true jokester at heart with a kind soul that knew no bounds; he had the unique ability to bring joy to those around him. His friends often remarked that he lived life without worries or regrets—embracing every moment with enthusiasm and love. He had an innate gift for making others feel special through small acts of kindness that left lasting impressions.
Family meant everything to Brandon. He cherished each member deeply—from his brothers Collin Campbell and Aaron Mason to his sisters Danielle Campbell (and fiancé Josh Landry) and Kasie Mason-Jackson. The bond they shared was unbreakable; together they created countless memories filled with laughter during family gatherings where Brandon’s playful spirit shone brightest.
He took immense pride in being an uncle to Braylee McCarty and Waylon McCarty—his eyes would light up whenever he spoke about them or spent time playing games or sharing stories filled with adventure. To him, family wasn’t just important—it was everything.
Brandon is also survived by his loving grandmothers Lula Maddox and Barbara Jason (and husband Dennis), as well as his grandfather Clayton Suire (and wife Loretta). He leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him dearly along with many special friends who were fortunate enough to know such a remarkable person.
Preceded in death by his grandfather Arthur Mason—a man whom he admired greatly—Brandon's legacy will continue through the lives he touched so profoundly during his short but impactful journey here on Earth.
A graveside service honoring Brandon’s life will be held on Thursday May 1st at 3:00 PM at Rosepine Cemetery in Rosepine LA under the care of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder LA.
