Bonnie Bennett's Obituary
Bonnie Bennett (born Loretta Yvonne Rippetoe) entered eternal rest on December 2, 2021, at the age of 89. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marie Newman Rippetoe, and Willard E. Rippetoe of Hollis, Oklahoma; and her loving husband, Keith Bennett of Simpson, Louisiana. She is survived by her brother Wink (Wilford) Rippetoe (Nita), and sister Judy Ayers (Joe). She was the beloved mother of two children, Randy Bennett (Teresa), and Teena Croissant (Dallas); four grandchildren: Andre Lanaux, Kristin Stout, Brittany Bailey, and Chase Bennett, and six great – grandchildren: Damien Alexander, Maddox Alexander, McKenze Stout, Nora Bailey, Bailey Ray Bennett, Cameron Bennett, and numerous nieces, and nephews.
Bonnie was a member of the greatest generation. Her experiences as a child of the Great Depression instilled in her a fighting spirit with boundless resourcefulness and hope. She used every moment she could to make the best home for her family and to spend time enjoying her many interests and hobbies. Foremost, she was a talented artist, a member of the National Tole Painters Association, and an art teacher. She was an entrepreneur for many years who sold her art at local arts and craft shows, was a founding member of Boutique de Noel, and was a vendor at the Destrehan Plantation craft shows. She loved interior design, and spent years collecting antiques to restore, repurpose, or resell. She also loved arranging flowers for the church on Sundays and decorating the church for special banquets and events. She and her husband, Keith Bennett were very active members of First Baptist Church of Simpson, where she painted murals in the sanctuary. They were active members in the community of Simpson, Louisiana, where they chose to retire, and helped plan the 100 year celebration of the Village of Simpson. But above all, she loved and cherished her husband and family. She looked forward to every holiday, so she could decorate and celebrate with all her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren by her side. She will be dearly missed.
