Bobby Joe Toups' Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that our husband, father, and friend, Bobby Joe Toups, passed away peacefully at St. Pats Hospital in Lake Charles LA surrounded by his family. Bobby was born in Sulphur, LA on November 8 1943, to Dennis and Yolande Toups.
After graduating from Sulphur High School, Bobby joined the Navy where he served proudly for 4 years, then attended Sowella Tech in Lake Charles for computer programming. Shortly after completing his studies, he was offered a position by Bob King, who owned several restaurants in Louisiana, Bobby ended up running several different restaurants for Mr. King, which ultimately lead to owning his very own restaurant which is now known and loved as BJ’s Family Diner in Leesville, LA. In 1995, Mr. Bobby retired from the restaurant industry. He later worked on Ft. Polk as a Role Play Supervisor for several years. Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and would often get everyone together for card games, dominos, and penuckle. When he wasn’t knee deep in game activities with friends and family, he loved to fish. He spent much time on his dock on Vernon Lake fishing, visiting with family and friends, or just relaxing and watching wildlife, and of course watching the fish jump. He was quite a character, and is loved and deeply missed by many.
