Bobby Gene Boycher's Obituary
Bobby Gene Boycher, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Born on March 20, 1938, in DeRidder to Guy W. and Mamie Irene Williams Boycher, Bobby lived a life rich with love and devotion that touched everyone around him.
Bobby is survived by his cherished wife of 49 years Linda Boycher of Leesville. Their bond was an inspiring testament to true partnership; together they built a family grounded in faith and unconditional love. He is also survived by their son Frank Boycher and daughter-in-law Dashnora of Leesville; their daughter Brenda Boycher of Leesville; brothers Kenneth Boycher and wife Sue of Rosepine; stepdaughter Tuesday Mattix and husband Vance from Washington State; as well as seven adoring grandchildren—Sara, William, Nely, Henry, Trista, Wyatt—and Morgan—who were the apples of his eye.
Bobby's heart was filled with warmth for those he loved deeply but also extended generously to others through acts of kindness that defined his character. He was known for being loving yet humble—a man who worked tirelessly while always making time for family gatherings or fishing trips where laughter echoed across the water.
His passion for travel allowed him to explore the world beyond Louisiana’s borders but no matter how far he roamed or what adventures awaited him abroad—the essence of home remained firmly rooted within the walls built by love alongside Linda. His commitment to their church community reflected not only his faith but also served as another avenue through which he expressed generosity toward others.
Preceded in death by his parents Guy W. and Mamie Irene Williams Boycher along with son Bobby Guy Boycher and brother, Billy Guy Boycher—his legacy lives on through those who carry forward the values he instilled: loyalty towards one another coupled with hard work dedicated towards achieving dreams big or small.
Funeral services will be held at First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 2:00 P.M., officiated by Pastor Mark Christian followed by burial at Cooper Cemetery under Labby Memorial Funeral Home’s direction. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Friday, January 24th from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the church.
As we gather together during this difficult time—to celebrate Bobby's remarkable journey—we remember not just what he accomplished throughout life—but more importantly—the profound impact left behind within our hearts forevermore.
