Bobbie Lee Myers Harris' Obituary
Funeral services for Bobbie Lee Myers Harris, 82, of DeRidder, Louisiana, will be held at 5 P.M., Sunday, July 25, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church in DeRidder with Rev. Jon Tellefero officiating. Burial will follow in Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Mrs. Harris passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010, in her residence. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 24, 2010, from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M., and Sunday, July 25, 2010, from 9 A.M. until 2 P.M., at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, and will continue Sunday from 3P.M. until time of the service at the First United Methodist Church in DeRidder.
Mrs. Harris was born in Chestnut, Louisiana, and was educated in Saline, Louisiana. She was a graduated of Louisiana Normal College with a degree in education. She later earned her Masters plus 30. She was a long time educator in Beauregard and Vernon parishes. She was a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder, a member of the Louisiana Retired Teacher Association and a member of the DeRidder Gardenettes. She was member of the First United Methodist Church of DeRidder where she was also a member of the United Methodist Women.
Bobbie is survived by four sons, Mike Harris and wife Cindy of DeRidder, Pat Harris and wife Susan of Atlanta, GA, Tim Harris and wife Lisa of Kingwood, TX, and Ted Harris and wife Shelia of Alexandria, LA; nine grandchildren, Cory, Jamie, Ryan, Ross, Kelsey, Jenna and Cliff Harris, Chelsea(Duncan) Faherty, and Nicole Driscoll; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Harold Harris.
