Bishop Earl Watts' Obituary
Homegoing services for Bishop Willie Earl Watts of Leesville will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Johnson Temple Church of God in Christ in Leesville, Louisiana with Pastor Vertis March officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Wednesday August 20, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Bishop Watts the son of Willie Watts and Bishop Becky B. Watts was born January 3, 1933, in Chireno, TX. Bishop Watts departed this life on August 17, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Elearl & Nathaniel Watts and sister, Evelean Dixson.
He is survived by his wife, Florine Gatewood-Watts of Leesville; Daughter, Janilla L. Davis of Killen, TX; Six Sons, John E. Elbert, Michael D. Watts, Willie E. Watts, Jr., all of Phoenix, AZ, Dana R. Gatewood, Americo J. Gatewood all of Houston, TX and Dexter L. Gatewood of Leesville, LA, Five Sisters, Shirley Jones of Nashville, TN, Velma J. Jackson, Alice Faye Russ, Dorothy McCoy all of Lufkin, Texas, and Loest Roberts of Livingston, TX: Two Brothers, Herman Watts of San Francisco, CA and Howard Watts of CA; Nineteen Grandchildren and Twelve Great Grandchildren.
At a young age Bishop Watts committed his life to Christ, and it was not until his demise, that he stopped sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
