Billy Joe Legans' Obituary
Billy Joe Legans, 75, of Leesville, LA, passed from this life on Monday, January 31, 2022, at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX with his loving family by his side. Billy was born on Saturday, August 10, 1946 in Fulton, KY to Ervin and Mary Robertson Legans.
Graveside Service will be Monday, February 7, 2022, at 1:30 P.M. at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, LA with full Military Honors. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA.
Words cannot express what Billy meant to the world. He was a loving husband, great father, and the ultimate provider for his family. He had a work ethic that could not be matched. He always put his family first and made numerous sacrifices throughout his career. There was never a dull moment when he was in the room. The laughter and joy that surrounded him was immeasurable. He enjoyed the simple things in life like yard work, working with his hands, watching old westerns and football. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 50 years, Dien Legans of Leesville; son, William Legans and wife Michelle-Anne of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters, Katherine Ward and husband Thomas of Leesville, LA, and Annette Howard and husband Brian of Tampa, FL; brother, Ronald Legans of Dukedom, TN; two sisters, Gale Legans Mansfield, and Kathie Legans Adkins both of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Thomas Legans and wife Cindi, Chance Wilson, and Brayden Howard; five great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Legans, Kenzie Legans, Kaylee Milburn, Shelby Green, and Wesley Green; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Mary Legans; brothers, Tommy Legans, and Harold Legans.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will the United States Army Honor Guard.
Those honored to serve as honorary pallbearers are William Legans, Thomas Ward, Brian Howard, Thomas Legans, Chance Wilson, and Brayden Howard.
