Geneva Billings Sewell, 92, passed from this life on January 09, 2019 in her home in DeRidder, Louisiana surround by her loving family. Geneva, the daughter of William Monroe and Nancy Cheek Billings was born on December 8, 1926, in Lamesa, Texas.
Visitation will begin Saturday, January 12, 2019, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, at First United Methodist Church in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will begin Saturday, January 12, 2019, at 1:30 PM, at First United Methodist Church in DeRidder, LA with Rev. Jerry Egbert and Lamar Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Beauregard Cemetery, DeRidder, LA. under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
Geneva married Robert B. Sewell on June 28, 1947 in Livingston, Texas. They had four children, Sharon, Robert Byron Jr., Michael D. and Patrick D. and according to them she was always the world’s greatest Mom. She was an active member and Ruling Elder of the First Presbyterian Church. Geneva enjoyed many clubs with her friends over the years and travelled with family and friends to all parts of the world. She was very active in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sharon Sewell Hebert and Rick of Cypress, TX; sons, Michael D. Sewell and Cheryl of Columbus, TX, Patrick D. Sewell and Elizabeth of Lake Charles, LA; sister, Mildred Trammell; brothers, William Elvis Billings and Arleen, Harold Billings and Clara; grandchildren, Charli Geneva Scarbrough Honas and Matt, Tiffany Thompson and Jeremy, Mitchell Sewell, Steven Sewell; and three great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Sewell; son, Robert “Robby” Byron Sewell, Jr.; grandsons, Scott Scarbrough, Rob Scarbrough, brother, Ray Billings; and sisters, Hettie Mae Hasty, and Virginia Womack.
