Billie Marie Norris Borel's Obituary
Funeral services for Billie Marie Norris Borel, of Leesville will be held Friday, June 15, 2018, at 10 am at the United Pentecostal Church in Leesville. Burial will follow in the Rosepine Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the church.
Billie Marie Norris Borel, longtime resident of Vernon parish, passed away on June 12, 2018 at the DeRidder Retirement Home at the age of 91. Mrs. Borel was born in Chippley, Louisiana on November 29, 1926. She grew up in Rosepine, Louisiana, graduated high school at South Park High in Beaumont, Texas then went on to earn her license as a beautician. She open Billie’s Beauty Shop in Rosepine. Her love for her family was second only to her love and devotion to God. She was known for her delicious food. Every dish she cooked she would say it was “the best I ever made!” She was an avid quilter and loved her flowers.
She will be sadly missed by her 9 children. Roxana Borel of Fort Worth, TX., Carolyn Borel of Rosepine, LA., Joycie Cooley of Singer, LA., Stanley Borel Jr. of Tyler, TX., John Borel Sr. of DeRidder, LA., Richard Borel of DeRidder, LA., Christopher Borel of Hemphill, TX., Kayla Haymon of Leesville, LA., Phillip Borel of DeRidder, LA., Two brothers, Jarrel Norris of Zavalla, TX., and Daniel Norris of Rosepine, LA. One sister Myra Rion of Buna, TX., 22 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents James Henry “Jim” Norris and Annie Smith Norris of Vidor, TX. Her husband of 54 years Stanley Joseph Borel Sr. of Franklin, LA. a brother Jimmy Norris of Deer Park, TX. a grandson Benjamin Joseph Borel of Rosepine, LA.
