Bill Hitefield, 82, of Dry Creek, LA, passed from this life on Monday, December 1, 2014, at Dry Creek, LA.
Bill was born on Tuesday, May 24, 1932, to Lee and Edith Fogle Hitefield at Cleves, OH and lived most of his life in Dry Creek, LA. He was retired from PPG in Lake Charles, LA where he was a machinist. He formerly owned Bill’s Feed and Farm Supply in Reeves, LA. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving overseas in England and at Chennault AFB in Lake Charles, LA. He enjoyed woodworking, machine repair and building and flying model airplanes and H O gauge model trains. Bill was also a licensed pilot and loved flying. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He spent his time in his shop making wood-working projects for family and friends. While stationed in Lake Charles, he attended Bethel Baptist Church and he trusted Jesus as his Savior and spent the last years of serving Him at Dry Creek Bible Church. His family request donations are made to Camp Pearl Ministries or Dry Creek Bible Church.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris Louise Wilson Hitefield of Dry Creek, LA; their children, Bill Hitefield and wife Denise of Bristol, TN, Katherine Hitefield Loftin and husband Scott of Dry Creek, LA, Thomas Lee Hitefield and wife Lynn, Jesse D. Hitefield and wife Sherry of Lake Charles, LA; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother and a grandson, Stephen James Hitefield.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, 10:00 AM at Dry Creek Bible Church with Rev. Don Barrett and Rev. Sam Burchard officiating. Burial will be at Dry Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, 4:00 PM until the time of the service at the church.
